For this I am reviewing the Jake miller website which is JakeMiller.com. It is a very basic website and does not have many tricks or colour changes on the website. When you go on the website the first thing that you see is the facebook integration as you can post on his website. You also see a banner for advertisement. This is an interesting front page as it does not have anything to do with the artist or his music, it is about the fans. This is very unusual for an artist to do and not something that I will copy.
The if you go on his store it takes you an internal website. This is very unsusual and there is not a variety of products to buy. If you then want to go back to the normal site it re directs you back to where you were.
His about page is very black and does not look very interesting. There is to much text on the page but some links to external sites do help to liven the page. There are also ways to get in contact which may be helpful but they are not highlighted in any way.
His shows page is very plain but does not gives you all the information that you need. You can also use the page to direct you to buy tickets which is good. As the website does this I may use this on my website.
His music page is good as it helps you to know what music he has made. It tells you where you can buy the tracks clearly and shows you the artwork which is a good gallery. When you click on the artwork it takes you to where you can buy the tracks which is a good idea.
The videos are quite close togther on the videos page but they do promote but you may want more spacing. You get all you want though on this page which is why it is a good page.

Questions
1. The institution takes a positive and original approach to roas safty adverts in a number of ways.
As it is a more independant company doing the video they can tackle the problem head on rather than take a approach that has to be in a certain way to not offend anyone. Big institions may have to not tell things as they are and try to cover you slightly from the truth while a independant instition can go straight into the problem and tackle it head on.
As it is an indepandant company that have made the video they will not have the money that is available to them that a big instition would have. This has a big effect on the type of video that they can produce. they will not be able to have lots of special effects and stunts. they instead had to tackle the problem head on and tell you simply. This was positive for them as they were then able to show the emotions more than the consequences.
You do not normally see a family in the video becoming the seatbelt to make the man safe. this is a big thing for making it positive as it shows that seatbelts can keep familys together. it also shows how they can help you get away injury free. If this had been a big buissness they may have all been killed in the crash. They would not have used the same place as this instition as it may have seemed to simple. This is also original as usually you see lots of blood and damage to people.
There were also not a lot of facts which is unusual for road saftey adverts. this just showed you and you understood the message rather than being told it.

2. The mise en scene contributes to the impact of the film in a number of ways.

They use glitter to act as the glass shattering on the windscreen. As this is slowed down you understand that the glass shatters very easily. You also understand how easily a familys life can be shattered by someone not having a seatbelt on.
As the family are in normal clothes you get the sense that this can happen to anyone and this also affeects everyone. The actors look like they are playing a game which makes them seem even more normal. They are middle class which appeals to the wide audience.
You have sound over the top which is non diegetic sound which makes you focus on the ators and there emotions which makes you feel the video more than if you were just listening to them. They use the sound to make the feel of the film change at different times. It goes from happy to sad to relieved which this music does very well.

3. The family is represented as a normal family in the video. they are seen as middle class and are looking smart/casual which make relate to them more. It is a normal family which makes you think that they could be you. It is a mother and father with a daughter who are having fun which is a stereotypical family. They are in a standard living room joking around which is what you want family to be like. The family are then brought together by the crash which is telling you that familys are close but it also at the same time tells you about road saftey.

4. The film appeals to such a wide audience due to a number of reasons.
It is a family and you see them as a family rather than disjointed. As you see them always  together it makes people think of their own family and what could happen to them. This will make more people watch it as it will get more views.
It is not a normal advert and you see people emotions which makes people wnat to watch it and respond to it. It also helps people to realise that if they want to keep there family together then they may need to wear a seatbelt.
It is a middle/working class family which is what most people are so that makes people able to relate to the video rather than not knowing much about the family. When you start to see people  you start to understand there situation which you able to do in this video.

In this music album cover you can see that the artists are in black and white. This helps to make them look more menacing which is good for this genre of music. They are also in rather plain clothing so not much distracts you from them as they are the centrepiece. The artists are in bold font so that it stands out and as it is white you pay attention to it more as it fits in with the background and pictures. The song title is also in bold which helps to make it stand out and as it in a different cover you realise that it is separate to the artists. It is also more centred and shorter which helps you realise that it is the song title.

pitch

Our target audience is the teenage population, predominately teenagers that are fans of rap music. In the logo, there is a sense of money. We used this idea of money because rap artist in the USA tend to rap more about money and things they like to spend it on. Deadly Serious A2 Media Studies Coursework: First 5 seconds have a black BMW with a customized number plate. This gives the feeling of the Hip Hop scene. It then cuts to a shot of the person getting a text message saying ‘Time to get serious.’ This all happens before the music starts and it immediately establishes a genre and an impression of the main character appearing in the video. An underground rap artist, trying hard to make it big. The general feel for the video is the main character is recording his song whilst rapping it down the camera. There are a couple of good shots included in the film, but bad ones, for example, the editors sped things up unnecessarily and it made the video feel a little amateur.
